Role Play Guidelines Empty Role Play Guidelines

These rules are of lesser importance but must still be followed, and if they are not punishment will be enacted swiftly and accordingly without a moment's hesitation. Twisted Evil Most are just site guidelines that don't really have punishments, so no worries. Just read them all. Thanks. study

1. The Administrative Staff's (Moderators included) word is law. Failure to conform or refusal of disciplinary or preventive measure will result in punishment, i.e. Temporary/Permanent Banning. Please report mods/admins who abuse this power.

2. We understand that not everyone can post a thousand words a post, but we do know that everyone can post more than a single sentence. We would appreciate it if every post could be at least one paragraph. Five to ten sentences is all we ask for each paragraph.

3. Posting order is to be followed at all times. by posting order, we mean the order in which players of a specific thread have posted. Say if Johnny posts, and then Timmy posts, and finally Shawn posts. Well after Shawn posts Johnny will post and the Timmy will post a gain and the Shawn will post again and the pattern will continue. The only way the Posting Order can be changed is one of two ways:

Option 1: The player has permission from both the creator of the thread and the person whose turn it is to post. If Jimmy made a thread and then it's Tommys turn but Jr. has permission from both Tommy and Jimmy to post instead of Tommy, then the post is legitimate.

Option 2: If a player dies/leaves a thread then the posting order is changed , only by omitting said player from the Posting Order.

4. "GM-ing or God-modding" will not be tolerated, and will result in a simple scolding and a polite demand that the post be edited so that said "Gm-ing" is removed. Failure to comply falls under jurisdiction of Guideline 1. "God Modding" is in essence when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. An example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RP-ers try.

-It can be killing or injuring a character without the player's express permission.
-It can be when they simply can’t be hit and dodge all attacks or anything for this matter aimed at them.
-It can also be using other characters that other people RP with. In other words, if you do not RP as Legolas, then you cannot have Legolas say anything, or do anything, without the player's expressed permission.

The absolute worst is when they make out another character to be what they’re not, just to make their own character seem superior. They make others seem weak, screaming for help, when they’ve made it quite clear about their advantages and strengths. This is called power-play. It’s a strain of God-Modding, but instead of just being irritating, it’s offensive to boot.
This is a prime example of God Modding:

Player A: Punches Player B
Player B: Dodges attack, grabs Player A and throws him. Player A flies at Player B, who warps behind him and slashes Player A in the back.

5. "Auto-Hit"-Auto-hit is a form of battling faster than the traditional way of battling. It involves every move hitting, for example "He slashed at her paw, drawing blood." In a normal form of battling this move could be dodged. Though this type of fighting allows you to say what your attack does, it doesn't allow you to do impossible things, like breaking another creatures bone in one bite, or ripping muscles, tendons etc.

6. "Metagaming"-"Metagaming" can be defined as any out of character action made by a player's character which makes use of knowledge that the character is not meant to be aware of.
Examples of "metagaming" include:

* Using certain types of attack or defense based on the strengths and weaknesses of an opponent that the player's character is unaware of.
* Acting on any knowledge that the character is not aware of (such as creating gunpowder in a Dark Ages or Middle Ages setting).
* Adjusting a character's behavior towards other player characters based on real-life relationships with other players.
* Using knowledge of the game's mechanics to gain an advantage in the game by having the character do something incompatible with that character's personality.
* Deciding on a character's course of action based on how the game's mechanics will affect the outcome without more significant regard placed on how the character would actually behave.
* Any action that is based upon the knowledge that one is playing a game.

7. Please keep foul language to a minimum. We will tolerate the use of foul language, but please try to be as censored as possible. The easiest way to censor a word is the use of Astrix. Words Like F**k should be edited as such, so that we know what is being said but it still makes sense to other players. Other Examples would be: S**t, and D**n.

8. Proper grammar is a must! This is a site where people communicate as civilized beings. This is not just one big cell phone conversation. If you don't know how to spell a word, we strongly suggest that you open another tab or window and enter the word into a search engine. Google, and any other search engine will correct spelling mistakes and so will programs like Open Office, Microsoft Word, Mozilla Firefox, etc...

9. Spamming is a BIGG no no. Spamming will not be tolerated and any posts will be deleted. Anyone who makes a habit of posting short, spam-like posts will be warned. Keep doing it and you will eventually stumble upon a perma-ban. Remember, the Staff has the right to determine what is and isn't spamming.

Reminder: The Administrative Staff's (Moderators included) word is law. Failure to conform or refusal of disciplinary or preventive measure will result in punishment, i.e. Temporary/Permanent Banning. Exclamation
